Four ways to eat free at Chili's

Chili's is offering "Holideals", or coupons for free or discounted food every day until December 24. The most recent ones, good from today until December 5, were recently announced on the Southwest-themed chain's web site.

The first deal, for dine-in only, is a free kid's meal with purchase of an adult entree. Available to children age 12 and under, there is a limit of one free kid's meal per adult entree ordered. The adult entrees can not be from the Lunch Combo menu, and a Full-Size Flatbread qualifies as an entree. Multiple redemptions per table are allowed.

The second deal, for dine-in only, is a free appetizer with purchase of an adult entree. The deal excludes the Triple Dipper and Flatbreads, although a Full-Size Flatbread qualifies as an adult entree. The coupon can not be combined with other coupons, and the offer is not valid as part of the $20 Dinner for 2. There is a limit of one offer per table.

The third deal, for dine-in only, is a free dessert with purchase of an adult entree. The deal is not valid as part of the $20 Dinner for 2. There is a limit of one offer per table, and it can not be combined with other coupons. Full-Size Flatbread qualifies as an adult entree.

The fourth deal, for carry-out only, is a free chips and choice of dip with purchase of an adult entree. Full-Size Flatbread qualifies as an adult entree. The deal is not valid as part of the $20 Dinner for 2 and can not be combined with other coupons. There is a limit of one offer per purchase.

Are the deals worth it? It depends on you.

I don't have any children, so the first deal doesn't attract me. However, both of my brothers have two young children, so it could be worth it to them. Two parents, two adult entrees, two free kid's meals--a perfect night out for them.

The second deal has my interest piqued. I'm a big fan of the Southwestern Eggrolls, and an opportunity to get them for free makes me want to make a run to Chili's. And there are two different types of Buffalo Wings--the bone-in Wings Over Buffalo and the Boneless Buffalo Wings--so chicken fans should be happy. And then there's the Texas Cheese Fries and Loaded Potato Skins--the hardest part of this deal is deciding which appetizer you want!

The third deal is also definitely worth it. A free dessert is a free dessert. I'm interested in the new Pumpkin Spice Molten Cake, which has a cinnamon cream in it, but the Molten Chocolate Cake is good too. As the web site reads, "We're pretty sure one of these is calling your name."

The fourth deal is good if you want carry-out. I personally would choose the Fire-Roasted Guacamole as my dip--it's "Made daily with fresh avocados, chopped cilantro, house-made pico de gallo, fire-grilled corn & jalapeƱos." What's not to love about that?
