Red Lobster offers half a pound of crab legs for $3.99

Red Lobster has a coupon for half a pound of snow crab legs for $3.99.

Red Lobster recently announced a discount on snow crab legs as part of its Crabfest special. Customers can get a half-pound of snow crab legs for $3.99 with purchase of an entree, according to a coupon on the seafood chain's web site.

The coupon is not valid in Times Square or Hawaii. There is a limit of one half-pound per coupon, one coupon per table, and one coupon per visit. The coupon expires on November 10.

Other Crabfest dishes are the Roasted Corn and Crab Chowder (which does not count as an entree), the Crab and Roasted Garlic Seafood Bake for $19.99, the Snow Crab and Linguine Alfredo, and the Snow Crab and Crab Butter Shrimp for $14.99.

According to Red Lobster, the Roasted Corn and Crab Chowder comes in cup and bowl sizes. A cup contains 320 calories, 26 of them from fat, 16 of which are saturated fat. It contains 6 grams of protein, 830 milligrams of sodium and 19 grams of carbohydrates. A bowl contains 650 calories, 51 of them from fat, 32 of which are saturated fat. It contains 11 grams of protein, 1670 milligrams of sodium and 38 grams of carbohydrates.

The Crab and Roasted Garlic Seafood Bake is "Steamed snow crab legs paired with tender shrimp and bay scallops roasted in a garlic and white wine broth." It is served with sweet corn on the cob and red potatoes. It contains 1010 calories, 55 of which are from fat, 12 of which are saturated fat. It contains 68 grams of protein, 4000 milligrams of sodium and 55 grams of carbohydrates.

The Snow Crab and Linguine Alfredo is a half-pound of steamed snow crab legs paired with linguini, topped with crab and a garlic Parmesan cream sauce. It contains 780 calories, 38 of which are from fat, 12 of which are saturated fat. It contains 56 grams of protein, 2220 milligrams of sodium and 52 grams of carbohydrates.

The Snow Crab and Crab Butter Shrimp is a half-pound of steamed snow crab legs and "a skewer of wood-grilled shrimp, topped with sweet crabmeat in a creamy crab butter." It is served with wild rice pilaf. It contains 540 calories, 19 of which are from fat, 6 of which are saturated fat. It contains 48 grams of protein, 2720 milligrams of sodium and 48 grams of carbohydrates.

Red Lobster's web site reads "Not all fats are to be feared. Scientific research consistently suggests that Omega-3 fatty acids found in some fish and seafood – including salmon, lake trout, mackerel, and albacore tuna – provide tremendous health benefits, from reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease and dementia, to boosting mood and brain development in young children."
