Top 10 Vegetarian-Friendly Major League Baseball Parks

Vegetarian baseball fans no longer have to settle for peanuts and Cracker Jacks for lunch while watching their favorite teams complete. Check out these top 10 best vegetarian-friendly ball parks.

Vegetarians used to be odd man out when sifting through standard baseball fare for something to eat at major league parks, but all that has changed. With more stadiums serving vegetarian and vegan options on their menus, PETA recently released a list of their top 10 choices for the best vegetarian-friendly major league baseball parks for 2013. Here's how they line up.

1. Citizens Bank Park (Philadelphia Phillies)
Meat-free fan fare is nothing new for Citizens Bank Park. This is the sixth time in the last seven years that Citizens Bank Park has won the top spot. The faux-chicken patty, faux chicken streak, and faux "pit beef" slathered in barbecue sauce are favorites for vegetarians, vegans, with taste that even surprises meat eaters, too.

2. Comerica Park (Detroit Tigers)
Comerica Park takes the number two spot for 2013 with favorites like Italian mock sausage, a vegan Riblet sandwich, and a veggie dog. But the vegetarian options don't stop there. Other meatless items include: black-bean burgers, vegetarian sushi, and more.

3. Nationals Park (Washington Nationals)
Jordan Zimmermann's low ERA is no secret, and neither are the benefits of eating vegetarian. Fans can help keep their weight and cholesterol under control by going vegetarian. Meatless options at Nationals Park include Nationals Park's Sloppy Jane, veggie chili made with faux ground beef, and falafel.

4. AT&T Park (San Francisco Giants)
The reigning World Series champs take the number 4 spot on PETA's list with a giant selection of vegetarian cuisine. The new Field Roast artisan vegetarian sausage is a favorite. Other vegetarian concession stand menu items include vegetarian rice bowls, and meat-free tacos.

5. Angel Stadium of Anaheim (Los Angeles Angels)
Fans give the Angel's star-studded vegetarian lineup rave reviews. Vegetarian fans enjoy black-bean burgers, veggie dogs, veggie burritos, and vegetarian sushi rolls.

6. Safeco Field (Seattle Mariners)
Safeco field has a reputation as a great place for baseball fans. While taking in the stunning vistas of the Seattle skyline, stunning sunsets over Puget Sound, and excellent views of the game from any seat, now Mariners fans can enjoy a vegan version of a red hot. Other vegetarian options including vegan chili cheese dogs and vegan Bao-Choi Asian-style steamed buns stuffed with veggies, and spices.

7. Citi Field (New York Mets)
The Mets' Citi Field offers up an All Star vegetarian selection with the likes of veggie dogs, vegetarian tacos, vegetable sushi, and exotic treats like sliced mango dusted with chili powder.

8. Fenway Park (Boston Red Sox)
The Red Sox have a winning 2013 vegetarian menu at Fenway Park. Options include meat-free burritos, veggie burger and dogs, vegetable sushi, and hummus. These popular vegetarian dishes put the green in the home of the Green Monster.

9. PETCO Park (San Diego Padres)
PETCO Park offers the best sight lines in baseball along with stunning views of San Diego. Along with innovative design features, they now offer innovative vegetarian options to their fans. Vegetarian fast food like grilled tofu wraps, veggie burgers, hummus, vegetable shushi are flying out of the concession stands.

10. Wrigley Field (Chicago Cubs)
While vegetarian fans are still waiting for the Chicago Cubs to win a World Series, they no longer have a difficult time finding winning vegetarian options on the menu. 2013 vegetarian fare options include: Veggie dogs, Sloppy Janes and fresh vegetable wraps.

If you think vegetarian options are becoming more prevalent at stadiums and other athletic arenas, you'd be right. According to the Boston Globe it's a growing trend. "Our research suggested that our fans were seeking more vegetarian options. They have been some of our best sellers."
