US Air Force Museum Offers Spring Home School Day

The National Museum of the United States Air Force will offer educational activities for home school children, ages 3-18, during Home School Day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 26. Admission to the museum and most activities is free; however, advance registration is required. Space is limited, and registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Educational programming includes:

* Storytime: Ages 3-5; free

* Planes, Planes, Planes: Ages 5-7; free

* Sky Dreams: Ages 7-9; free

* Guided Tours: Ages 9-18; free

* Fun with Flight: Ages 9-11; free

* 50 Years in Space: Ages 10-14; free

* Space Colony: Ages 10-12; $3 per student

* Spacesuits: Dress for Egress: Ages 11-18; free

* "Airbridge" for Freedom: The Berlin Airlift: Ages 12-18; free

In addition to these educational activities, several guided tours, scavenger hunts and aerospace demonstration stations will be available for a variety of age groups.

Those who are interested may come for a full day or just one activity. A picnic area is available outside the museum for those who wish to pack their lunch. Food, snacks and drinks may be purchased in the museum's cafe on the second floor. Visitors may also watch an IMAX movie, ride the Morphis flight simulator, or visit the Presidential Gallery. -- www.nationalmuseum.af.mil
