Tattifilarious - Ken Dodd Is Back To Grand Theatre

Ken Dodd OBE is leaving the Diddy Men in the Jam Butty Mines of Knotty Ash to bring his famous Happiness Show back to Blackpool's Grand Theatre this March. And how tickled we are!

An evening full of plumptiousness is promised from Professor Chucklebutty, who has been honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the prestigious British Comedy Awards and also features in the Guinness Book of Records for telling 1,500 jokes in three and a half hours. That's more than seven jokes a minute!

Britain's top mirth maker is also a celebrated recording artist, releasing several albums of love songs and notching up 19 top 40 hits, including the 1965 chart-topper Tears (number ten in the top twenty best selling records of all time) as well as his signature tune Happiness.

Ken has been awarded the OBE for his services to show business and charity. He is a patron of the Grand Theatre, Blackpool, an Honorary Fellow of Liverpool John Moores University and was the first recipient of the prestigious 'Living Legend' award from The British Comedy Society. In 2003 Ken was voted The Greatest Merseysider of all time - beating John Lennon and Paul McCartney!

Ken says "As long as people keep coming to my shows and laughing their heads off, then I will continue touring this great country of ours. It's my love. It's my life and I enjoy every single minute of it."

Tickets for Ken Dodd at the Grand Theatre, Blackpool on Saturday 10 March at 7pm are priced from only £10.50 and are on sale now from the Grand Theatre Box Office. -- www.blackpoolgrand.co.uk
