CA Announces Support for IBM DB2 9 Viper for z/OS

Initial CA products supporting IBM DB2 9 Viper for z/OS include:

- CA's Database Management Solution, an integrated set of tools that optimize database design and modeling, performance, administration, backup and recovery.
- CA Easytrieve, an information retrieval and data management tool designed to expedite rapid development of business reports.
- CA NeuMICs, a resource management tool which provides visibility into system usage and performance for improved utilization decision making.
- CA ACF2 and CA Top Secret, a set of tools which help ensure the integrity and security of critical organizational assets.

By providing timely support for IBM DB2 9 Viper for z/OS, CA is continuing to enable DB2 users to improve service levels, data availability and application responsiveness, as well as helping to assure security.

Last month, when CA announced new releases of eight IT management products that evaluate, monitor and exploit IBM's System z9 Integrated Information Processor (zIIP), three were DB2 database management tools.

CA is a charter member of the International DB2 Users Group (IDUG) and maintains an active participation in IBM's vendor program for DB2, both of which help the company keep its portfolio of management solutions current with new releases as they become available - CA.
