Wesdome Appoints Senior Operating Officer

Wesdome Gold Mines Ltd. is pleased to announce that Benoit Laplante, P.Eng., has been appointed Vice-President, Operations of the company effective today. Mr. Laplante has been with the company since 2004 having served as Assistant Mine Manager at the Eagle River Mine.

Prior to being with the company Mr. Laplante was Mine Manager at the Beaufor Mine and the principal engineer for the pre-feasibility study at Casa Berardi for Aurizon Mines. Benoit brings over 25 years of underground mining experience to the position. Mr. Laplante is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique with a B.Sc and MScA in mining engineering and mining optimization, respectively.
