Astronomy Day At California Academy

Join local amateur astronomers in skywatching and exploring the Universe on Saturday, April 21. The Academy will host activities for kids and provide astronomy-related door prizes. All programs free with Academy admission. California Academy of Sciences, 875 Howard Street, San Francisco.

ART & SCIENCE FOR CHILDREN AGES 4-8 at 10:30 am

See the stars shine! Make a constellation postcard to take home.

THE SKY TONIGHT at 1 pm

Morrison Planetarium's Bing Quock will guide you on a tour of the night sky for this evening's skywatching. Weather permitting, amateur astronomy clubs will hold "star parties" for the public tonight, giving you an opportunity to look at the waxing crescent Moon, Venus, Saturn, and "deep-sky" objects.

MEET THE BIOLOGIST at 2 pm

Steinhart Aquarium biologists will introduce you to sea stars, the starry flounder, and other creatures with space-inspired names. -- www.calacademy.org
