Brandon Rogers is a classical piano player, which is cool. He sings "I Just Want to Celebrate" by Rare Earth"¦a great song choice for him. He pulls off the retro sound well. I never would have thought of this before, but tonight he's channeling a little Lenny Kravitz. -claena
Chris Sligh-Do not underestimate this guy. He's climbing right up there with Chris Richardson...past the more popular Sundance Head and Sanjaya Malakar. I think that, sometimes, his humor comes across as a little sarcastic, and he would almost fool us into believing that he doesn't care about winning this competition. But, believe me; he's in it to win it. -Gwen4791
Sanjaya just doesn't have the performance skills to pull off something that's not necessarily a vocal showcase. His voice is so pretty, but doesn't seem to have that extra gear, which makes these performances forgettable, and that's dangerous. On the bright side, the stylists did wonders with his hair. -dchambers59
Tonight Jared sang as if he was excited that he nailed all of the words, rhythms, and notes to a Stevie Wonder song. Unfortunately, the level of dynamics was flat lined in the middle, the syncopation was straight and uninspired, and there was no coloring throughout his vocal range. I like Jared enough, but he needs to create meaningful music as he phrases his lyrics. -auesar
Chris Richardson-My eye candy. He picked a wonderful song by my Keith, and unfortunately, no one's Keith. Chris did a nice job, but it was a bit nasally. He's still one of my favorites though because he's current and keeps me from being bored"¦ --cleopatra7
Did you know that Sundance is really a thin and sexy man in a fat suit? I use that excuse all the time but I lie. Sundance begins. He's off, he's on, he's lost the tune, he's found it. Yikes! What is he singing? Awww, there it is: "Jeremy"Â by Pearl Jam. Sundance averts the nose from hitting the ground and finds that rocking sound we enjoy. Randy and Paula both agree that the end was better than the beginning. -Deanie79
Phil Stacey will probably make it to the top 6 despite destroying and crucifying "I Need You"Â with the same abandon that he shaved his head. -Damien666
Blake Lewis-He's forcing the show's hand in a way, whether he wins or not. It's hard to critique his vocals when he's rapping and beat-boxing as much as he's singing but, overall, it was a really good, commercial performance. I think he raises the bar. --ProVocalist - Source: American Idol News
