White House Vows Veto On Any Iraq Pullout Measure

The White House has vowed that President George W. Bush will veto any measure passed by Congress that calls for the early withdrawal of U.S. combat troops from Iraq.

Democratic Party lawmakers in the Senate and House of Representatives on March 8 unveiled proposals calling for the withdrawal of U.S. combat forces from Iraq as early as the end of March 2008.

The Democrats control both chambers of Congress but do not hold enough seats to override a presidential veto.
