Russia Criticizes U.S. Rights Report

The Russian Foreign Ministry says the U.S. State Department's latest human rights report is not objective.

Spokesman Mikhail Kamynin said the 2006 report, released on March 6, had a "biased, politicized, and confrontational character."

The report criticized Russia for centralizing power in the executive branch and warned of an erosion of government accountability.
