Bomb Attacks Kill 15 in Baghdad, 5 in Kirkuk

Iraqi security officials say a car bomb blast in a Shi'ite neighborhood in eastern Baghdad has killed at least 10 people and wounded 25 others.

Officials say the explosion occurred Wednesday near a bus stop and a Shi'ite mosque in the Kamaliyah area.

Later, two car bombs exploded in another eastern suburb, killing five day laborers and wounding 10 others. The U.S. military in Baghdad says the attack occurred near a Sunni mosque.

Also Wednesday in a town, Riyadh, some 50 kilometers south of Kirkuk, suicide attackers drove two vehicles into an Iraqi army base and then detonated explosives that killed at least five soldiers and wounded 10 others.

In a village south of Baghdad, gunmen stormed a house and killed nine members of a Shi'ite family.

Tuesday, a suicide car bomb attack targeting Shi'ite day laborers in Baghdad killed 70 and wounded 230.
