Germany Says Troops Will Stay In Afghanistan

Germany's Interior Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said today his country will not be "blackmailed" by terrorists demanding the withdrawal of German troops from Afghanistan.

Germany has almost 3,000 troops in northern Afghanistan, where it commands the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force.

On March 11 , a group linked to Al-Qaeda called The Voice of the Caliphate warned on the Internet that Austria and Germany could become terror targets unless they withdraw their troops from the country.
