The Asheville-Buncombe Youth Orchestra, conducted by Ronald Clearfield, will be giving a free concert on Saturday, March 17 at 5:30PM in Thomas Wolfe Auditorium before the Asheville Symphony Orchestra's March Masterworks concert.

The program will feature the annual concerto competition winner. The concert will include Rimsky-Korsakov's "Procession of the Nobles", the first and last movements from Dvorak's "New World Symphony," and the first movement of Max Bruch's Concerto #1 for Violin and Orchestra, featuring violin soloist, Lynn Nakazawa.

Lynn Nakazawa was born in Chicago and lived there until she finished the 6th grade. Her first instrument was piano, but after a year she switched to the violin and studied at the Music Institute of Chicago. Her family moved to Asheville in August of 2002 only two weeks before the Youth Orchestra audition for the 2002-2003 school year. This is Lynn's 5th year in the Youth Orchestra. She's attended a few summer camps including this year's experience at the North Carolina School of the Arts.

The Asheville-Buncombe Youth Orchestra is a twenty-year-old organization serving more than five counties. Over sixty students, playing string, percussion and brass instruments, practice weekly during the school year and showcase their talents in four annual performances. Come support the talented youth of the Asheville community by coming early on March 17th and attending their concert. -- www.ashevillesymphony.org
