Tucson Symphony Celebrates Film Music

Film buffs are in for an evening of great music and film clips when Guest Conductor Albert-George Schram leads the TSO Pops! in HOORAY FOR HOLLYWOOD, a salute to the music of Oscar and Grammy winning composer, John Williams. The HOORAY FOR HOLLYWOOD performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 16 and 17 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, March 18 at 2:00 pm at the Tucson Music Hall.

With 45 nominations, John Williams is the Motion Picture Academy's most nominated living person. He has been awarded five Oscars, seven British Academy Awards (BAFTA), eighteen Grammys, four Golden Globes, four Emmys and numerous gold and platinum records.

The TSO Pops! HOORAY FOR HOLLYWOOD program will feature Williams' music from such box office blockbusters as Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, E.T. (The Extra Terrestrial), Superman, Saving Private Ryan, Schindler's List, Far and Away, Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace and Star Wars.

Thanks to the TSO Pops! HOORAY FOR HOLLYWOOD concert sponsor, Cox Communications, which arranged for the film clips to be shown, the Tucson Music Hall will also have screens stationed throughout the venue for better viewing of these classic film clips.

Tickets are $26-$53. -- www.tucsonsymphony.org
