Portland Symphony Hosts Forum

The Portland Symphony Orchestra will be hosting a public forum on Thursday, March 22 at 5:30pm in the Rehearsal Hall at Merrill Auditorium to announce the 2007-2008 season and discuss the search for a new Music Director.

Ari Solotoff, executive director of the Portland Symphony Orchestra (PSO), will host the forum with Joseph Silverstein, PSO's Artistic Advisor for the 2007-2008 season. Members of the Music Director search committee will also be available to answer questions and offer updates on the search. In addition, Silverstein and Solotoff will announce the PSO 2007-2008 season.

"The music director is the primary force behind the artistic direction of the orchestra," notes Solotoff. "Because of the importance of this position, we want to make sure the public understands this search process as much as possible."

The forum will invite feedback from the public as well as answer questions about the search process and the role of the music director. The PSO expects to announce the new music director in May or June of 2007. -- www.portlandsymphony.com
