The Royal Scottish National Orchestra will perform at the Edinburgh Festival Theatre for its 07:08 Season, during Phase II of the Usher Hall refurbishment. The Royal Scottish National Orchestra will perform fifteen concerts during the period; six at the regular time of 7.30pm on a Friday, while the remaining nine dates will be on Sundays at the earlier time of 6.00pm.
The Royal Scottish National Orchestra will return to the Usher Hall for the start of its 08:09 Season in September 2008.
The Usher Hall is undergoing a multimillion pound renovation, including an upgrading of backstage facilities, as well as the construction of a dedicated education space and a new glass wing facing Grindlay Street accommodating the box office and a café bar.
Simon Woods, Chief Executive of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra said: "We are thrilled about the ongoing restoration project of the Usher Hall and look forward to returning to a truly world class facility in 2008. In the meantime we are very pleased that such an established venue as the Edinburgh Festival Theatre has been made available to us. We aim to make the Season as enjoyable and comfortable as possible for our growing Edinburgh audience, and we are confident they will enjoy the superb amenities at the EFT."Â
