Regis Philbin Concert Cancelled At McCallum Theatre

Regis Philbin has cancelled his appearance at the McCallum Theatre scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 23 and 24, 2007 due to pending heart surgery.

According to the Associated Press, Regis Philbin announced "Live With Regis and Kelly" that he is scheduled to have bypass surgery this week. Regarding the situation, Philbin said, "I've been feeling chest pains, shortness of breath and all those little symptoms that you hear about." Philbin went on to say that after a number of tests, doctors recommended the bypass. But, Philbin is definitely not happy about it, saying he was hoping to get away with an angioplasty. However, he went on to say, "There's some plaque in some arteries and I've got to get it cleaned out."

Mitch Gershenfeld, Director of Presentations for the McCallum Theatre said, "We wish Regis Philbin all the best for his pending surgery and for a quick and full recovery. And we look forward to seeing him at the McCallum Theatre in the near future."

A replacement for these dates will be announced shortly. Ticket holders wishing to receive refunds may contact the McCallum Theatre Box Office at 760-340-ARTS (2787). However, patrons may wish to wait until the announcement of the replacement before seeking a refund. -- www.mccallumtheatre.com
