Filipino Joan Tipon won every round in the final to win the bantamweight boxing gold against Han Soon Chul of Korea.
The final score was 21-10 and the Filipino will receive a handsome reward from his National Olympic Committee.
"I am going to get 1.5million pesos [USD30,000], with that money I will buy a house and spend the rest of the money in business,"Â said the 24 year-old.
"The fight against the Thai [Worapoj Petchkoom in the semifinal] boxer was harder than this. I came in relaxed for this match and I have watched this Korean boxer's video more than five times. I studied his techniques and worked hard on training for these.
"I don't want to move into professional boxing. I have set my sights on getting a gold in the 2008 Olympics."Â Tipon was the Philippines' third winner of a boxing gold at Doha 2006.
Bronze went to Worapoj Petchkoom of Thailand and Badar Uugan Enkhbat of Mongolia.
