The NAI/ Ballast Nedam Photography Commission is approaching its climax: the exhibition opening and prize award ceremony, in the NAI on Friday March 23. Elco Brinkman, Chairman of Bouwend Nederland, is to hand out three prizes to the winners of the NAI/Ballast Nedam Photography Commission Building Portraits on Friday March 23.
The prizewinners will receive cash prizes of EUR 5,000, EUR 3,000 and EUR 2,000 respectively during the opening of the Building Portraits exhibition in the Netherlands Architecture Institute, Rotterdam.
Twelve talented young photographers were selected and asked to give their interpretation on how people relate to their built surroundings. The photographers had four months to carry out this commission according to their own insights, but with expert guidance from the photographers Marcel van der Vlugt and Ine Lamers. The results of their photographic quests will be revealed in the exhibition Building Portraits from March 24 to May 13.
The exhibition consists of photographs by Jan Adriaans, Gwenneth Boelens, Dieuwertje Komen, Christian van der Kooy, Eva-Fiore Kovacovsky, Juriaan Langstraat, Janneke Luursema, Zaida Oenema, Jelle Ooijevaar, Maarten van Schaik, Niels Stomps and Vincent Zedelius.
