
Computer Sciences Corporation announced today that it has been awarded an information technology (IT) framework contract by Germany's Federal Office of Administration (Bundesverwaltungsamt) to modernize the country's administration systems
The three-year contract, which has an additional one-year option, is valued at $22 million (17 million Euros) if the option is exercised.
Under the contract, CSC will provide IT consulting services to Germany's federal ministries, federal authorities and non-profit organizations. Specifically, CSC will support the Federal Office of Administration as it introduces new seamless IT-based processes, integrates specialist procedures and legacy systems, and implements public workflow and document management systems, and Department of Interior standards and architectures for eGovernment applications. In addition, CSC will provide consulting services for strategic projects focusing on IT and eGovernment, including "Future-Oriented Administration through Innovation" and "eGovernment 2.0."
"In the award procedure, CSC presented the best offer in terms of price and performance," said Stefan Salz, head of the BIT 2 Division at the Federal Office for Information Technology in the Federal Office of Administration. "With the help of contract teammates such as CSC, we will improve the interoperability of the administration, which will benefit both private citizens and business.
"This contract continues the successful six-year relationship we have with the Federal Ministry of the Interior," said Dr. Julia Bertrams, member of the board of CSC's operations in Germany. "Because the ministries and authorities all have different starting positions for modernization, we will create the corresponding solutions and IT architectures to meet their diverse needs and, thus, deliver tangible results " - CSC.
