The Village at Gordon House recently completed renovations that include new private assisted living rooms, a beauty salon, dining rooms, and community rooms for resident activities.
"The renovation efforts have been a tremendous success," said Tom May, facility administrator. "Our expansion plans are serving a need and standard of living families are looking for when it comes to caring for their loved ones."
The facility has already welcomed new residents to nine of the newly constructed 15 private assisted living rooms, many drawn to the country-community lifestyle, high staff-to-resident ratio, and on-site physician.
"We find many families choose us because of our location," added May. "Gordonsville is a convenient getaway for people living in Washington, D.C., Richmond, Charlottesville, and surrounding communities who want to visit residents living at our facility. People enjoy the scenic drive and look forward to taking their loved ones out to local eateries, galleries, and shops. Plus, the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains, university scene, and attractions provide unlimited opportunities for cultural and historical exploration."
Furnished or unfurnished, rooms are available at reasonable rates and can be customized so that residents can add their own personal touches such as antique heirlooms and favorite pieces of furniture. Rooms come complete with chair rails, crown molding, and carpeting, and are available in medium, large, and extra-large sizes. Doorways and windows are adorned with decorative trim to give residents a sense of being at home. Additionally, residents are in control of their own heating and cooling units.
The Village at Gordon House is currently constructing a park-like patio for outdoor activities and is planning to build 12 cottages and 23 apartments. For online visitors, a virtual brochure and full list of amenities and services are available for viewing at www.villageatgordonhouse.com.
