The media had reports that Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited may sell the surplus 773 acres through an open market sale and raise up to 10,000 crores.
The Exchange, in order to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the media and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded, had written to the officials of the company.
Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited has vide its letter inter-alia stated, "In this regard, it is hereby informed that VSNL is not aware of any such decision of neither the Government of India nor the Strategic Partner". -- www.nseindia.com
