The West Australian Symphony Orchestra continues to strengthen its corporate development support and philanthropy program. The Orchestra will receive nearly $3million in corporate support from its partnerships with WA business and philanthropy in 2007.
"A continued strong WA economy combined with WASO's unique positioning in the corporate sponsorship market in the State have been the reasons behind our success in developing lasting corporate partnerships"Â said Keith Venning, Chief Executive Officer of WASO.
In 2007, WASO will receive $2.725million in corporate support. This result continues WA's growth in corporate support of the arts which is leading the other Australian States. Combined with WASO's new philanthropy program it is expected this figure will be extended to $3 million in total private sector revenue. This represents 20% of WASO's total income for 2007.
"While box office revenue has increased and we receive grants from the Commonwealth and State Governments, support from the corporate and private sector is imperative to the ongoing sustainability of the company,"Â he said.
The WASO has lost very few corporate partners while building new partnerships with about 20 companies including Home Building Society, ConocoPhillips, Inpex, Lexus of Perth, Maunsell Aecom and the Perron Group.
"Our reputation for meeting corporate partner's expectations is now well recognised. The WASO has worked hard on the quality of corporate hospitality it provides, developing its own standards in service levels,"Â he said.
Emirates Airline is WASO's Principal Partner and remains the Principal Partner of the Orchestra to the end of 2007. Negotiations are continuing to extend the agreement for a further 3 years.
Keith Venning said "The Orchestra prides itself on its ability to meet the needs and expectations of its corporate partners - and this is the key to successful partnerships.
"The revenue we generate is vital to our success. We have been able to bring some of the most spectacular artists to Perth."Â
