Police in the North Caucasus region of Ingushetia have detained 15 officers from the neighboring region of North Ossetia.
Mainly Muslim Ingushetia and Christian North Ossetia fought a 10-day war in 1992. Tens of thousands of Ingush became refugees as a result and are now living in Ingushetia.
Reports say an organized-crime unit from North Ossetia crossed the administrative border between the two regions on March 29 and detained at least four Ingush.
According to the reports, reinforcing Ingushetian units arrived and after a standoff detained 15 North Ossetian police officers.
