GE Security's new analog-digital recording platform provides a flexible migration path to IP video recording, while allowing customers to continue to use their extensive existing installed bases of analog equipment. This new hybrid functionality lets SymDec16 plus 4 offer a best-of-both-worlds solution that can help customers introduce advanced IP-based functionality to any existing installation, including schools, hospitals, casinos and airports.
"GE Security is leading the market trend toward fully integrated IP-based security solutions with the introduction of its new line of hybrid analog-digital video products,"Â said A. Louis Parker, president and CEO, GE Security. "Building on GE Security's innovative technology, we will continue to expand our portfolio of advanced IP products to offer customers more of the advanced features they seek."Â
"Having analog and digital capabilities in one system gives our customers the scalable and flexible video recording solutions they need to meet today's business challenges,"Â said Robert Siegel, general manager, video and software solutions, GE Security. "With our new hybrid DVR, customers can bridge the gap to digital, enhancing the way they manage their video surveillance networks with new advanced features unavailable in purely analog environments."Â
The SymDec plus 4 is the first DVR in GE Security's newly created line of hybrid products. With the SymDec 16 plus 4, customers can simultaneously capture 16 channels of analog recording and four streams of IP recording in real time at D1 resolution.
GE Security's new SymDec plus 4 offers built-in MPEG-4 compression, which enables it to record at 30 frames per channel, per second, all at D1 resolution, resulting in better quality images. The SymDec plus 4 also incorporates full search capabilities by time, date, motion, and alarms, and each unit features alarm handling with a history log and alarm notification via e-mail.
The SymDec plus 4's modern front panel enables simple set up and use. Customers can also easily configure it with their networks and view footage remotely. In addition, the SymDec plus 4 works with GE Security's SymSuite software solutions, including SymSecure, SymNav and SymBrowser - General Electric.
