Nigeria: Tinapa, Africa's Premier Business-Tourism Resort Opens Monday April 2

Tinapa, Africa's Premier Business and Tourism Resort will be commissioned on Monday April 2, in Calabar. Tinapa, the cosmopolitan hub of Africa, is the utopian dream of Donald Duke, the governor of Cross River State in South Eastern Nigeria.

Tinapa is located on the Calabar River, and contiguous to the Calabar Free Trade Zone. Tinapa is the realization of an exciting dream of the first integrated business and leisure resort in Nigeria. Tinapa is the utopian dream of Donald Duke, the broad-minded governor of Cross River State in South Eastern Nigeria; to transform Calabar into a cosmopolitan business and tourist hub in Africa. And over $350 million have been spent in the development of Tinapa.

Top retailers in Nigeria and other countries have already signed up with Tinapa to benefit from Tinapa's large markets with four anchor emporiums covering a vast area exceeding 80 000m2. The four anchors will be supported by retailers catering to diverse markets including cosmetics, toys, books, and computers.

Entertainment will also be a key feature with restaurants, bars, nightclubs, hotels and leisure facilities incorporating golfers paradise, quad biking, clay pigeon shooting, etc. Cultural facilities incorporating an arts & crafts market as well as the aggressive promotion of agri-tourism will further increase the value of this massive development. The complimentary mix of facilities at Tinapa will enable tenants to profit from demand from both the leisure and business sectors.

Tinapa will be commissioned by President Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria.

I have also been contacted by this person, and it is, without a doubt, a scam.. DONT BELIEVE IT.... He claims to work at this hotel, but right after he first contacted me (to be a private esl teacher for his family) I googled him... gotta love the internet... and all these crazy and varied back stories came up.. then i got this site... I dont really know what his plan is... because besides a resume from the internet, he has no info, but after the first email he sent me he wanted to "make a contract" and fly me there.. I said "yeah right".. I wish we could catch him though... send some huge killer man there thinking that I would show up (a small girl) and have him attacked! Anyways, dont buy it!

My friend has been contacted by a "man" in Nigeria trying to get her to send him $3000.00 for a trip to TINAPA. Apparently this must be the "in" place for this type as well. We are having great fun here in the United States listening to all the "bull" he is emailing but I thought I would check out your website to see what all the fuss was about. ps: too bad we couldn't trap this scum-bag somehow since I know there is probably some dumb woman believing his crap.

There is no where in your website giving the type of Tinapa clip we watch on cnn, is that really the case? Do you have such a dry webpage?.After I boasted to a friend abroad about Tinapa, he wanted to know more cos he is regular visitor to Nigeria but I had nothing more to show.

Has anyone heard of Mr. Albin Berta or Executive Director Dr. Karsten Hubar? Both claim to work for the Hotel-De-Plaza in Abuja and again are lookin for a an english teacher to teach their wives and 2 children. Both placed 2 seperate adds, but are looking for the same type of teaching position to be filled. Does anyone know if they really do work at that hotel ? Or, is this too probally a scan.

*******Hotel-de-plaza does not exsist. This same hotel has an ad on the internet for General Managers,Exexcutive Chefs, etc. It is a scam intended for you to send money to fabricated websites which are generated through either Miami or Chicago. You send money for an extremely high paying job in Africa, send your money to Nigerian immigration(a phoney web-site),you are out money and there is no job.End of discussion!!!!!!! Do not be a fool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nigeria is the SCAM capital of the world. They prey on people like all of these phoney ministries that pretend to love JESUS CHRIST,take all of your money by totally distorting the word of GOD,and leave you feeling like GOD has not listened to you.GOD does not want you to give money to decievers and liars. And he does not want you to send money to hotel-de-plaza or Karsten Hubar or Karsten Huber. They do not exsist.Don't lose your money through your lust of a better job or your lust for more money.I have investigated this offer.PHONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THE MONEY YOU LOSE WILL BE YOUR OWN AND YOU WILL NEVER SEE IT AGAIN AND THERE WILL BE NO JOB BECAUSE THEY DO NOT EXSIST.IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME , ASK HOTEL-DE-PLAZA TO SEND YOU RELOCATION MONEY TO MOVE TO AFRICA.YOU'LL GET NONE.HAVE YOU EVER HAD TO SEND AN EMPLOYER ANY MONEY IN AMERICA FOR A JOB YOU HAVE ACCEPTED?SEND NO MONEY TO NIGERIA.YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.PLEASE HEED THIS WARNING.SEND NO MONEY FOR HOTEL-DE-PLAZA POSITIONS OR ENGLISH TEACHER POSITIONS.THEY DO NOT EXSIST.

I think I am not the only one to have been lured in this way. Dr. Hubar may or may not exist, but the hotel appears to. Dr. Hubar offered me a position as an English teacher for his wife and kids, and he himself claims to be Swiss - but he does not seem to speak any of the official languages in Switzerland (French, German, Italian and Raeto-Romansh). It is certainly very weird...

I was also contacted by Dr. Kirsten Hubar who offered me to come to Nigeria and teach his wife and two kids English. I looked at the web site of so-called hotel de plaza that he is an executive director of and, honestly, guys, go look at the site and try to look at it as someone who would want to go there for vacation, try to book a room, without paying of course, and you will see no results. The web site was created in order to fool hard working people like you and me. No interviews and he is alreasy sending a contract to the immigration for me, common!

But this is a very strange person I met on a singles-site, who earlier claimed to be an international dealer in gold & diamonds...& now suddenly he says ".i wanted to tell you i got a project i will be working on in www.tinapa.com i want to help them process some of their constructions and some other works there and i will be there for three weeks and i am missing hearing from you!!!" I've been suspicious of this guy from Day 1 - he claims to be English/Australian but his speech pattern is very odd... & when I checked the website, it was 'down' - This HAS TO be a scam. I'm staying far away

What is the mans name that is in love with you and works for Tinapa? Thanks!

I just received an email from a mySpace member, Kenneth Dobbins. Of course, that is not his real name I am sure, but my email is to warn others that may get an email from someone by that name. He also "works" for Tinapa Resort, www.tinapa.com, and he was so good in his email, I actually believed him! And this is very bad, because I was scammed very bad by a man named Stephane Konan years ago in Europe, and he is now a well known scam artist over there. I actually flew to Paris to meet him and he abandoned me hours after my arrival at a hotel when he found out I didn't have anymore cash. So for me to be fooled is a very rare thing now-a-days, so be careful and google everyone. To verify my story on Stephan Konan, google this search with quotes: "stephane konan" "con men" and you will see my story.

I recieved an email from a Dr. Lucas Bassett, claiming to work for the Holy Family Hospital, seeking an English teacher for his family. I searched online again and found the same ad but with a Dr. Sanchez instead of Bassett. I am assuming this is a scam.

I have been in contact with someone by the Name of DR. HEINRICH BALLACK. He is suppose to be someone important in the Holy Family Hospital. I am guessing this is a scam but. I am curious to find out what they are trying to achieve? Why go through all the trouble of sending a contract and typing all these emails? This person hasn't asked for money or anything. Does anyone have any ideas? you can email me at denison_jc@live.com
