SonicWALL, Inc. today celebrated the shipment of one million units of its appliance based solutions in network security, email security, secure remote access and data backup and recovery markets
These solutions are helping tens of millions of users worldwide protect their data from Internet-delivered threats. SonicWALL products, services and software are distributed through its international network of approximately 10,000 channel partners.
"Our company strategy is predicated on the success of our channel partners, without whom we would not be celebrating this achievement," said Matthew Medeiros, president and chief executive officer at SonicWALL. "SonicWALL recognized early on that, to serve the unmet security needs of small and mid-tier businesses, a dedicated channel strategy was required. This dedication to our channel partners remains a core company strategy today, affecting every area of our operation. Reaching an installed base of one million units demonstrates the vitality of our strategy, for the channel and end-users, of creating purpose-built products that are simple to install, use and manage."
"SonicWALL has supported our business by helping us to solve complex IT problems with easily managed, effective security and dynamic network services," said Steven Schmurr, network engineer and consultant at Activant Solutions Inc., a SonicWALL Gold Medallion partner. "Our customers are not IT specialists, so they look to us for guidance on their network needs, and we recommend SonicWALL as their security solution. To date, Activant has installed over 7,000 SonicWALL units for customers throughout the US."
SonicWALL's network security, email security and content management appliances and their corresponding tens of millions of users serve as a collaborative intelligence network that can sense threats as they emerge, enabling SonicWALL's ongoing improvement of its defenses against the malware environment.
The leader in unit share and factory revenues for Unified Threat Management security appliances worldwide for six consecutive quarters, according to IDC Quarterly Tracker reports, SonicWALL has developed unique technologies to deliver zero day protection to its subscribers on a continual basis, allowing them to defend against new and existing Internet attacks and exploits such as phishing, viruses, DHA or DoS attacks and more.
Charles Kolodgy, senior analyst at IDC who is credited with the creation of the UTM category, commented, "SonicWALL took an early lead in delivering comprehensive gateway threat prevention technology to businesses of all sizes and the company is now recognized as a global force in UTM. Demand for appliances integrating multiple security technologies and updated threat prevention continues to rise, reflecting the changing dynamics of today's security industry."
"The SonicWALL dynamic security environment enhances our capabilities as our user base grows," said Medeiros. "The more we ship, the more we strengthen the defenses our solutions deliver, and the more we demonstrate the real benefit of dynamically updated network protection in today's business environment."
SonicWALL is a leader in delivering high-performance, easily managed dynamic security solutions for businesses of all sizes, including an innovative set of wireless offerings such as its Secure Distributed Wireless solution, winner of the 2007 SC Magazine award.
