Men's platform: Chinese pair set for golden battle

Lin Yue and Zhou Luxing led the way in qualification for the men's 10m platform as China looked to complete a clean sweep of gold in diving.

In search of perfection: Lin Yue of China competes during the men's 10m platform preliminary

Lin, the winner of the synchro 10m platform earlier this week, scored 510.10. He scored more than 80 in four of his six dives but will face competition by Zhou who meanwhile totalled 495.55 in his only event at the Games.

Zhou made an error with his second dive, a back two-and-a-half somersault with one-and-a-half twists, but the portents look for a close contest tonight.

"I was a little nervous this morning," said Zhou. "I didn't show all my ability because I didn't have systemic training before the Asian Games. I like arm-stand dives very much and I'm strong in it, but this morning's performance was just so-so."

Korea's Kim Jin Yong was the third best qualifier with 423.25 points but he will need to improve markedly to challenge the Chinese pair.
