Rarely have people done anything without money in Nigerian politics. Chief Sam Uwandu, a certified public accountant( CPA ) based in the United States, represents the brand of
incorruptible leaders Nigeria needs. Chief Uwandu effectively ran an Imo gubernatorial campaign with minimal funds raised by supporters who donated money for change rather than personal political gains. He went back to Nigeria with words, not money and contrary to all expectations almost clinched the PDP gubernatorial ticket. He lost to Chief Charles Ugwu by a marginal one vote overcoming all the 'money bags' and 'Ghana-Must-Go' money launderers.

Nigerians are getting tired of money politics, which over the years plundered the nation and brought untold hardship to the people. Chief Uwandu's entry into politics according to a political analyst brought hope to Imo people as he is widely kown as an intelligent, honest and upright man. The analyst predicted that Uwandu would definetly be elected to serve his people in the near future if not this time around.

On the verge of major crisis and mayhem into Imo State gubernatorial primaries, Governor Udenwa called on the state PDP aspirants to elect a flagbearer from their pool. This was how Chief Charles Ugwu emerged, trailed by a lone vote by Chief Uwandu. Uwandu was the least funded of all the aspirants. He came with words, steadfastnest and that did the miracle.

Chief Uwandu's qualifications in probity and accountability are impeccable. Through his successful accounting business he helps other businesses in financial accountability and management. Several successful U.S. multi-million-dollar corporations are amongst his
clients.

The battle for Imo PDP gubernatorial candidacy is not over yet. The wind through word of mouth, and dedication through service, will sooner or later usher in Uwandu and likes, who will take Imo to the promised land. There, Imo would see economic prosperity and social justices. The days of money politics are numbered in Nigeria.
