McAfee SiteAdvisor Plus Now Available in 15 Languages and Dialects

McAfee, Inc. today announced that it expanded the global reach of McAfee
SiteAdvisor
Plus, the first Web safety tool to actively shield consumers' computers from dangerous Web sites they encounter when browsing, searching, instant messaging or e-mailing.

McAfee SiteAdvisor Plus is now available in a total of 13 languages: Brazilian Portuguese, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. In addition, McAfee SiteAdvisor Plus also supports two additional dialects, French Canadian and Mexican Spanish.

McAfee SiteAdvisor Plus enhances the core safe search and safe browsing functionality of McAfee SiteAdvisor, which clearly identifies potentially dangerous sites that have engaged in social engineering attacks such as spyware, adware, spam, browser exploits, and online scams. McAfee SiteAdvisor Plus's "Protected Mode" feature prevents consumers from entering risky sites while using Internet Explorer and FireFox. "Link Checker" extends McAfee SiteAdvisor's ratings to popular e-mail and instant messaging applications. Consumers may use McAfee SiteAdvisor Plus to complement their existing McAfee products, with other non-McAfee security products, or as a stand-alone solution.

"The Internet doesn't recognize geographic boundaries, and neither do cyber-criminals," said Tim Dowling, VP, Consumer Growth Initiatives, McAfee Consumer and Small Business. "SiteAdvisor's recent report 'Mapping the Mal Web' clearly illustrates how Web sites from some regions may have a larger percentage of risky sites than others. The added support for these new languages enables millions more users of McAfee SiteAdvisor and McAfee SiteAdvisor Plus to proactively learn about the most dangerous corners of the Web, and completely avoid risky sites" - McAfee.
