Marvell, the leader in storage, communications, and consumer silicon solutions, today introduced the 88W8689 Bluetooth single-chip solution, featuring a Bluetooth Core Specification Version 2.0 + Enhanced Data Rate (EDR)-compliant baseband, a radio frequency (RF) transceiver, and a worldwide FM radio receiver

The 88W8689 is a highly integrated device, providing enhanced data rates and extended-range features at a lower total system cost, as well as industry-leading low power. The 88W8689 supports simultaneous use of Bluetooth applications and FM radio, and includes support for the new Bluetooth Version 2.1 + EDR features.

The 88W8689 extends Marvell's family of Bluetooth solutions. With the addition of the 88W8689, Marvell now provides a comprehensive set of Bluetooth 2.0-enabled products that target high-volume consumer markets. The highly integrated chip is optimized for both voice and audio transmissions, enabling an array of ultra-mobile, low-power consumer devices. In addition, 88W8689 customers have access to Marvell's robust ecosystem solutions to help enhance the consumer experience.
