Vienna State Opera: Wagner's "Die Walkuere" and "Siegfried"

Vienna State Opera will perform Wagner's "Die Walkuere" and "Siegfried" and other three productions for its coming season, according to a listing on its Web site available Wednesday.

The other premieres are Tchaikovsky's "Pique Dame," conducted by Seiji Ozawa and directed by Vera Nemirova; Verdi's "La forza del destino" with Zubin Mehta and David Pountney, and Richard Strauss' "Capriccio" with Philippe Jordan and Marco Arturo Marelli.

The two Wagner operas are directed by Sven-Erich Bechtolf and conducted by Franz Welser-Moest. Principals include Johan Botha, Nina Stemme, Eva Johansson, Deborah Voigt, Juha Uusitalo and Stephen Gould.

Revivals include Wagner's "Die Meistersinger von Nuernberg," Mozart's "Cosi fan tutte," and "Die Tote Stadt," from Erich Wolfgang Korngold. - Pravda.ru
