Where Will Armenians and Azeris Kick the Ball?

On April 18 the UEFA Executive Board was to decide the venue of the Euro-2008 selection phase meetings of the Armenian and Azeri football teams. But the discussion was postponed till June.

It remains unclear as to why the question hasn't been settled yet. Armen Minasyan, executive director of the Armenian Football Federation couldn't answer the question either. He informed A1+ agency that the UEFA hasn't passed any information to the federation. To note, Grigory Surkis, member of the UEFA Executive Board informed "Azeri Sports" agency that he supports Azerbaijan's proposal to hold the meeting in a neutral zone.

"Surkis's announcement is irrelevant. We endorse the Azeris' proposal to hold the meeting in a neutral zone, as we realise that Azerbaijan cannot secure safety. But there is no need to change the venue of the Yerevan meeting." -Source: http://www.a1plus.am
