
The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra (NJSO), and Music Director Neeme Järvi, are proud to announce the dates for the Spring 2007 AIG/New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Broadcast Series. Beginning Monday, April 9 at 9 pm, 96.3FM WQXR, the classical radio station of the New York Times, will broadcast 13 weekly concerts on Monday evenings.
The series will bring the 2006-07 NJSO concert season to listeners in the tri-state area, and throughout the world via live streaming on the station's website, www.WQXR. com. WQXR's host Clayelle Dalferes hosts the series.
Highlights of the 2006-07 season include the complete cycle of Beethoven's symphonies; the acclaimed Russian Romantics Winter Festival including music by Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky and the Mighty Five; Elgar's Cello Concerto; Haydn's "London" Symphonies Nos. 93, 95 and 101"ÂThe Clock"Â; the Grieg Piano Concerto and the U.S. premiere of Gavin Bryars' The Porazzi Fragment. Guest artists include Sarah Chang, Jie Chen, Vadim Gluzman, and Pekka Kuusisto performing with Music Director Neeme Järvi and guest conductors Harry Bicket, Peter Oundjian, Arild Remmereit and more. The programs were recorded at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, one of the world's superlative concert halls.
