Officials at a U.S. art museum say a painting by Spanish artist Francisco Goya has been stolen while being transported to an exhibition in New York.

The Toledo Museum of Art in Ohio says a professional transporter was carrying the piece when it was reported missing in Pennsylvania last week.

Museum officials say the painting, called "Children with a Cart," was on its way to the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York. The Goya painting from 1778 was to be included in an exhibition of Spanish artists at the New York museum this month.

The Federal Bureau of Investigations says the painting's insurer has offered $50,000 for help in locating the missing piece of art.

Some information for this report was provided by AP and Reuters.
