Sheffield Theatres Summer Touring Productions Are On Sale

The weather is getting brighter and the nights are getting lighter, but now there are even more reasons to look forward to summer as Sheffield Theatres May - July season of touring productions are on sale now!

The season kicks off in fine style with Cole Porter's sparkling musical, HIGH SOCIETY in the Lyceum. Hot on its heels is a stunning adaptation of Arthur Miller's classic, THE PRICE from local favourites the Compass Theatre Company. Two of the best known names in contemporary dance, NDT2 and the Michael Clark Company, make welcome returns to Sheffield in May with thrilling new dance works.

Making its debut in the Lyceum, PETE AND DUD: COME AGAIN revisits one of Britain's best-loved comedy partnerships in a hilarious new show, Opera North return with a trio of spectacular productions and flamboyant fishnet-clad favourite, THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW takes to the stage in June.

The West End is well represented this season with several more smash-hit shows, including THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES, FOOTLOOSE, CHICAGO and in September, 42nd STREET, touring to the city. The incomparable Chuckle Brothers are in the middle of some more Spooky Goings On in May and in June Sheffield's most celebrated singer/organist John Shuttleworth returns with a mission to educate the region's dietary habits.

Sheffield Theatres' season of its own productions also draws to a close in the Studio in June. LEOPARD, the world premiere of Neil Duffield's beautiful new production for children is followed by TOPDOG/UNDERDOG, Pulitzer Prize winner Suzan Lori-Parks' gritty, raw and poetic tale of two brothers locked in fierce competition. -- www.sheffieldtheatres.co.uk
