WebEx was one of eleven companies honored Wednesday evening at Boeing's annual supplier award ceremony held at the Harbor Club in Bellevue, Wash.
Over the past five years, Boeing use of WebEx has increased tenfold. The web collaboration service has helped Boeing improve business efficiency, allowing the enterprise to easily work across locations and with customers, partners and suppliers worldwide to meet business objectives. In 2006, Boeing broke new usage records with WebEx, becoming its largest web meeting customer, hosting more than 1 million meetings.
"We are pleased to recognize the achievements of these 11 suppliers for reaching extraordinary levels of performance and quality, and becoming the best in the Boeing supply chain,"Â said master of ceremonies Steve Schaffer, functional leader of supplier management for Boeing and vice president and general manager of Global Partners, Boeing Commercial Airplanes. "Boeing's ongoing commitment to working together with our partners helps us meet the high standards for quality, productivity and efficiency that our customers deserve and our competitive business environment demands."Â
"This is a great honor for WebEx and the multiple WebEx teams that support Boeing,"Â said Subrah Iyar, CEO, WebEx. "From sales to customer service, to operations and engineering, our success with Boeing is a true team effort."
The companies named 2006 Boeing Suppliers of the Year were selected from a field of more than 27,000 Boeing suppliers in nearly 100 countries. Awards were presented in 11 categories: Avionics, Electronics/Hydraulic/Mechanical, Major Structures, Purchased Outside Production, Common Aerospace Commodities, Aerospace Support, Non-Production/Shared Service Group, Technology, Diversity/Small Woman Business Enterprise, Diversity/Small Minority Business Enterprise, Diversity/Boeing Protùgù.
The winning suppliers were chosen on the basis of statistical measurements of quality, on-time delivery, post-delivery support and cost during a 12-month period up to September 2006. They also were evaluated on their ability to anticipate and respond to changing customer requirements. WebEx provides on-demand collaboration applications to individuals, small businesses and enterprise organizations.
