Wolfowitz is under pressure by many bank staff members, several aid groups, and a number of former bank officials to resign.
A special panel is probing whether he broke bank rules by securing a high-paying job for bank employee Shaha Riza. Riza transferred to the State Department when Wolfowitz became bank president in 2005, but remained on the bank payroll at a substantially higher salary.
Bank executives say Wolfowitz failed to disclose details of the arrangements and that he may have broken bank rules.
The bank directors' panel could ask him to resign, reprimand him, or take no action.
Wolfowitz has already admitted that he made a mistake.
