Support for UK Autism Foundation from Redbridge Leader Cllr Alan Weinberg

(London, UK) Councillor Alan Weinberg, the leader of the London Borough of Redbridge Council warmly supported the important work of the UK Autism Foundation. Cllr Weinberg was speaking at the Jon Sterry Concert for Autism in Woodford Green, Essex. The fundraising concert was in aid of the autism charity, the UK Autism Foundation.

Speaking to a packed audience in Woodford Green, Councillor Alan Weinberg said: 'I am pleased to see so many people here this evening. This event should raise a lot of money and awareness about Autism. In my life I've been a taxi driver and a local councillor - both jobs that require a huge amount of social interaction so I find it almost impossible to imagine experiencing the world with autism. There are half a million people in the UK who are in that position. That is why the work of charities like the UK Autism Foundation is so important. The foundation has go off to a flying start and I look forward to seeing it go from strength to strength.'

The UK Autism Foundation aims to build the first ever state of the art Autism Centre in London and create initiative to help the poor. The Patron of the UK Autism Foundation is Lee Scott MP who is championing the cause of autism in the House of Commons in London.

The Concert for Autism was headlined by the top British guitarist, Jon Sterry and his band. Sterry is also supporting the work of the UK Autism Foundation. The warm up act was the up and coming teenage group 'The Badgers.' The Concert for Autism attracted many young people.

Chair of Trustees Norman Darling urged people to support the work of the UK Autism Foundation.
