Under the terms of the task order, AT&T Government Solutions, a business unit of AT&T and a leading worldwide provider of network-enabled solutions and IP-based solutions to the federal government, will help support and maintain USAID's internal and external Web presence. AT&T will provide IT services for the management of the USAID intranet, extranet, and Internet sites in order to help USAID reduce costs and maintain efficiencies, thus enabling a seamless, secure experience for all USAID site visitors.
"Like many Federal agencies, USAID seeks to maximize the value of its internal and external Web sites through the use of advanced tracking metrics and performance-monitoring," said Don Herring, president of AT&T Government Solutions. "Leveraging our experience in network-enabled and IP-based solutions, AT&T will help USAID strengthen the security of its sites, transform Web services through business processes, and reduce costs while increasing efficiency."
Earlier this year, AT&T Corp. announced it had been awarded a blanket purchase agreement (BPA) from USAID for the Principal Resource for Information Management enterprisewide program (PRIME 3.2). PRIME 3.2 is designed to provide worldwide integrated communications and IT solutions to USAID, the U.S. Department of State and other foreign affairs partners.
USAID is an independent federal government agency that receives overall foreign policy guidance from the secretary of state. USAID supports long-term and equitable economic growth and advances U.S. foreign policy objectives by supporting economic growth, agriculture and trade; global health; and democracy, conflict prevention and humanitarian assistance.
