Intel Introduces Centrino Laptops

Intel introduces its new Centrino chipset based laptops for both professionals and consumers that will be available this year.

According to statistics 73m laptops were expected to be sold in 2007, but now it is 102m laptops expected for this year. By the end of 2011 sales will increase by 19% each year. Meantime, sales of personal computers increase only by 4% each year.

Since laptops are getting more and more popular in our times, technology professionals are trying to make them better and better.

Intel introduced its new Centrino chipset based laptop that is fast in performance, durable, with long lasting batteries. The new laptop has 17-inch display which is perfect for graphics and videos. The laptop has Intel TV Wizard feature that makes file sharing very easy. It also supports new 802.11 Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) standard for faster internet services.

Users can access frequently used software using flash memory which shortens start-up time by 20%, so they can save time while opening their favorite applications. Each laptop weights less than 3 pounds. So in average these laptops are 44% faster in performance than the laptops released last year and they are fast to run several applications simultaneously.

Centrino is release in two models: Centrino Duo and Centrino Pro.

Centrino Duo is released for consumers. These are first laptops with Core 2 Duo processors.

Centrino Pro is released for professionals. These laptops will feature asset management tools for IT departments. Employees' laptops will be as easy to monitor as general desktops.

This year Intel is going to release 230 Centrino laptops that will boost up mobile computer sales.
