Eurovision 2007 Final Kicks off in Helsinki Today

Eurovision Final kicks off in Helsinki today. Singers from 24 countries will compete for victory in the contest. Bookmakers see Ukraine's Verka Serduchka as a likely winner of Eurovision 2007.

Armenia will be represented by Hayko with a song titled Any Time You Need. He will be last but one. His number is 23. The Final will be broadcast by the Public Television of Armenia on May 12 at midnight (local time).

In Eurovision 2006 Armenia's first-timer Andre won the 8th place with a song Without Your Love and secured a place in the Final for this year's participant.

The contest - held since 1956 - had a record 42 entries this year. It is broadcast to an estimated TV audience of 100 million, who pick the winner by phone and text messages.

The countries qualified to perform in the final of Eurovision 2007 include Belarus (Koldun), FYR Macedonia (Karolina), Slovenia (Alenka Gotar), Hungary (Magdi Ruzsa), Georgia (Sopho), Latvia (Bonaparti.lv), Serbia (Marija Serifovic), Bulgaria (Elitsa Todorova & Stoyan Yankoulov), Turkey (Kenan Dogulu) and Moldova (Natalia Barbu).
