Gold Futures Turned Higher

Gold futures on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange turned higher in early trading Monday, May 14th, but trimmed part of the gains later in the morning.

The benchmark, most distant April 2008 gold contract ended the morning session at 2,624 yen per gram, up 21 yen from Friday.

Gold futures opened higher on buybacks following New York gold futures' rally in Friday's market. But the gains became smaller later as selling on a rally emerged. Buying grew again toward the morning close, reflecting firmer Tokyo stock prices. -Neftegaz.ru
