Melinda's last performance was "I'm a Woman" and it was as perfect as her all performances without any exception. All the judges and Melinda herself highly rank her performance.
"It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be," Doolittle told reporters. "I thought I was going to lose it."
"All of the judges were so sweet to me afterwards and really encouraging about what's to come," she said.
Melinda is a professional backup singer and she has always been shining during all her performances at American Idol. She proved that she is a real professional and that she has a brilliant voice. Her leave was very unexpected, because before announcing vote results, judges said lots and lost of warm words to Melinda. All the judges were really excited with her talent.
"The fact that people liked it and were giving me good comments was a great honor," Melinda said. "It was my little adjustment process there. The biggest thing I will take away from this," she added, "was I found my own voice. I couldn't have asked for more from this experience."
Melinda Doolittle, 29, was the oldest in the finalist. Kicking her off from the project voters proved that American Idol is a great surprising show, which can prefer stylish performers rather than a professional singer, if the voters whish, of course.
Now Jordin Sparks, 17, and Blake Lewis, 25, are the rivals for American Idol title. Blake is a stylish beatboxer with lots of teen girl fans, and Jordin is a really talented teen.
