NYSE Group Inc. Issues Monthly Short Interest Report

The NYSE Group, Inc. reported on May 21st short interest as of the close of business on the settlement date of May 15, 2007, reflecting transactions through May 10, 2007.

Based on information received from members and member organizations, short interest increased to 11,761,191,254 from 10,989,496,813 as of April 13, 2007.

The short interest on May 15 was equal to 3.1 percent of the total shares outstanding.

The short interest in warrants as of May 15 amounted to 213,115 warrants, compared with 223,938 warrants the previous month.

As of the settlement date, there were 3,642 stocks and 7 warrants available for trading. Of these, 3,076 issues had either a short position of at least 5,000 shares or a change of 2,000 shares since the last monthly report. A list of these issues, showing their current short positions and average daily volume between the trade dates, covered by this report, is attached.
