
Google unveils its new service Google Hot Trends, which can track search queries. It provides a list of top 100 search terms, updated several times a day. The list is based on millions of web searches made up to an hour before update time.
Google Hot Trends comes as a combination of Google's previous products: Google Trends and Google Zeitgeist.
Google Trends enables charting and comparing of search terms, it gives an idea of what the web users are looking for. Before releasing this feature Google was manually preparing the list of the most popular search terms every week named Google Zeitgeist.
Each Google Hot Trends' query of the list has its own search results, web log posting, news stories.
"After we find what trends that are interesting, users will want to know why are they important?" said Amit Patel, a Hot Trends software engineer. "We are helping you find an explanation: There is some investigation that has to be done by the user."
Web surfers can also request Google Hot Trends hot search terms' previous result giving an exact data and time of. Now users can investigate how the interests of users vary depending on their location, what is typical for the different state's resident to search for.
