PlayStation Update Improves Video Games' Quality

Sony Computer Entertainment America Releases software update for PlayStation 3 video game console.

The new update improves image picture quality and run standard definition DVDs with 1080p resolution. Blu-ray Disc videos can be perfectly viewed on big TV screens, which can be connected to PlayStation 3 with HDMI.

New update enables Remote Play with the help of PlayStation Portable. PlayStation 3 players now can remotely access not only their stored files such as music and video, but also enable the access to console from anywhere with Internet-connected PSP.

PlayStation 3 users can transfer their stored content from Digital Living Network Alliance enabled devices to their console. They can also copy stored data from console to memory devices.

"As adoption of HDTVs continues to surge, we know that consumers are hungry for content, and this latest firmware update leverages the PS3's technology to deliver an HD-quality experience using the entertainment media already in your collection," said Peter Dille, senior vice president of marketing, SCEA. "In addition, we continue to enhance the PS3's capabilities as an entertainment hub, giving consumers the option to bring their content with them on-the-go, or to stream photos, videos, and music stored on their PC to the PS3 in their living room. That's often where the largest TV monitor and sound system is located, giving consumers the best possible entertainment experience."

The new PlayStation update version 1.80 will be available next week.
