On May 30th, White Nile Ltd, a London Stock Exchange, AIM quoted oil and gas exploration company centred on Southern Sudan and the surrounding region, issued the statement below.
White Nile Ltd, the AIM listed oil and gas exploration company, in the light of the fall in the Company's share price, has asked the Government of Southern Sudan to issue, at the earliest opportunity, a statement clarifying the conclusion of the negotiations in Khartoum between themselves and the Northern Government, with regard to oil exploration and production issues in Southern Sudan, as referred to by the Company on RNS earlier May 30th.
It is understood that the Government of Southern Sudan is involved in continuing negotiations on a number of other issues and has not yet had the opportunity to make official comment on the outcome of the negotiations re oil issues. White Nile remains confident of a positive outcome and hopes that it will be able to provide further information, as soon as possible, on its rights in Block Ba, awarded to White Nile by the Government of Southern Sudan. -http://www.whitenileltd.com
