Paris Hilton Starts Serving Jail Sentence

Paris Hilton has begun her 23-day jail serving in Los Angeles for drunk driving with suspended driver license and for violating probation period.

Paris Hilton, 26 year old, will serve her sentence at Century Regional Detention Centre in Lynwood, which is especially for public officials, police officers and 'glamour' convicts, such as Hilton herself. It is separated from the general part of the jail.

Hilton was on MTV Movie Awards events only a few hours before going to the jail. When asked about the upcoming testing time, she said: "I'm going to do the time and I am going to do it the right way. Even though this is a really hard time, I have my family, my friends and my fans to support me, and that's really helpful. I'm using it in a positive way and when I come out, I can't wait to start my new life and be even stronger than I am now."

"I am trying to be strong right now," Hilton said. "I'm really scared but I'm ready to face my sentence."

Hilton was picked up from parents' home late on Sunday by police officers. She was taken to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, and from there to Lynwood jail, 15 miles away from the department.

Initially Paris Hilton needed to stay a jail for 45 days, but it was later cut to 23. By Ruzan Harutyunyan for HULIQ
